This Pro Micro 5V 16M Mini Leonardo Microcontroller Development Board for Arduino features 4 channels of 10-bit ADC, 5 PWM pins, 12 digital I/O pins, and a hardware serial connection (Rx and Tx). Running at 16MHz and 5V, this board will remind you of other Arduino-compatible boards you may like.
The board includes a voltage regulator, allowing it to accept up to 12V DC input.
The Micro is based on the ATmega32U4 microcontroller. It boasts 20 digital input/output pins (7 of which can be used as PWM outputs and 12 as analog inputs), a 16 MHz crystal oscillator, a micro-USB connection, an ICSP header, and a reset button.
Everything necessary to support the microcontroller is onboard; simply connect it to a computer using a micro-USB cable to get started. Its form factor makes it easy to place on a breadboard.
Similar to the Arduino Leonardo, the Micro utilizes the ATmega32U4’s built-in USB communication, eliminating the need for a secondary processor. This allows the Micro to function as both a mouse and keyboard when connected to a computer, in addition to providing a virtual (CDC) serial/COM port.
If you’re using an unstable power supply, make sure to connect it to the “RAW” pin rather than the VCC pin. The board also includes a PTC fuse and diode protection in the power circuit, as well as corrections for the RX and LED TX circuits.
